الرِّضا جنَّة، والجزع عناء، فالابتلاء بالقواطع المقلقة، والمحن المُبَلْبِلة: قدرٌ مقدورٌ، إذا رضيه العبد هان ورق، وإذا تسخَّطه ثقل وشق، قال ابن تيميَّة: "العوارض والمحن هي كالحرِّ والبرد، فإذا علم العبد أنَّه لا بد منهما لم يغضب لوردهما، ولم يغتمَّ لذلك، ولم يحزن".
